Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

bforbotz (“bforbotz”, “we”, “us”) is an all-in-one platform for Instagram businesses and creators that provides content scheduling, comment and DM automation, an AI agent, a one-page store (Micro Commerce) and a customer inbox.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

Account information: name, email address, password (stored in hashed form) and business details you enter.
Content you create: posts, captions and media you schedule, automation flows, message templates, and documents or text you add to your AI agent’s knowledge base.
Store information: product details, prices, images, inventory and store settings.
Support communications: messages you send us by email, Instagram or in-app support.

Information collected automatically

Device and usage data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, features used, and timestamps.
Cookies and similar technologies, described in the Cookies section below.

3. Data we receive from Instagram (Meta)

When you connect an Instagram professional account, you authorise bforbotz through Meta’s official login and APIs. We never ask for your Instagram password. Depending on the permissions you grant, we may access:

Profile information: your Instagram account ID, username, name, profile picture and follower count.
Content and insights: your posts, reels and stories, and their insights (such as reach, impressions and engagement), so we can publish scheduled content and show you analytics.
Comments: comments on your media, so your comment automations can read and reply to them.
Messages: direct messages sent to your account and the Instagram-scoped ID, username and profile name of people who message you, so your flows, AI agent and inbox can receive and reply to them.

We use Instagram data only to provide the features you have turned on, in line with Meta’s Platform Terms and Developer Policies. We do not sell Instagram data, use it for advertising outside bforbotz, or use it to build profiles of people unrelated to providing our service to you. You can revoke our access at any time from your Instagram settings (Settings and activity → Website permissions → Apps and websites) or by disconnecting your account in bforbotz.

4. How we use information

To provide the service: publishing scheduled content, running automations, AI replies, the inbox and your store.
To process orders placed on your Micro Commerce store and send order-related messages.
To show you insights and analytics about your account and content.
To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
To keep bforbotz secure, prevent abuse and spam, and enforce our Terms.
To improve and develop features, using aggregated or de-identified usage data where possible.
To send service announcements and, where you have agreed, product updates. You can opt out at any time.
To comply with legal obligations.

5. AI agent processing

When you turn on the AI agent, the content of incoming messages and the relevant parts of your knowledge base are processed by AI model providers that we engage as service providers, in order to generate replies. We require these providers to use this data only to provide the service to us. AI-generated replies can be inaccurate; you control when the AI agent is active and can review conversations in your inbox.

We share information only as needed to run bforbotz:

Service providers that host our infrastructure, process payments, send email, provide AI models, or help with analytics and support, under contracts that limit their use of your data.
Meta Platforms, when we send content, replies and messages to Instagram on your behalf through its APIs.
Payment processors, when your customers check out. Card and bank details are handled by the payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
Legal and safety, when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of bforbotz, our users or others.
Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.

7. Your customers’ data

When you use bforbotz to message people or sell to them, we process their information (such as Instagram username, messages, and order details like name, phone number, email and delivery address) on your behalf and according to your instructions. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to process your customers’ data and for your own privacy notice to them. We process it only to provide the service to you.

8. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you disconnect Instagram, we stop collecting new Instagram data and delete the Instagram data we stored within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data as described below.

9. Data deletion instructions

You can ask us to delete your data, including data we received from Instagram, in any of these ways:

In the app: log in to bforbotz, go to Settings → Account, and choose “Delete account”.
From Instagram: open Instagram → Settings and activity → Website permissions → Apps and websites, find bforbotz and select “Remove”. This revokes our access; to also erase the data we hold, use option 1 or 3.
By email: write to [email protected] from the email on your account with the subject “Data deletion request” and your Instagram username.

We will confirm your request and delete your personal data, including stored Instagram data, within 30 days, except for information we are legally required to keep. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the EU/UK GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct, update or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to nominate another person to exercise your rights. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and encrypted storage of access tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how our website and app are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how bforbotz works.

13. Children

bforbotz is intended for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

14. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy and applicable law.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date; for material changes we will notify you by email or in the app.
